A non-Newtonian fluid is a fluid whose viscosity (resistance to flow) changes under applied stress, unlike a Newtonian fluid like water, where viscosity remains constant. This means a non-Newtonian fluid’s thickness can change when force is applied, making it behave like a solid under certain conditions and a liquid under others.
While it is non-toxic, PurColour Oobleck is not meant for consumption.
PurColour Oobleck won’t stain skin like traditional oobleck mixed with food coloring and it is designed for easy cleanup.
After use, Oobleck should be allowed to dry and then simply be put in the garbage.
For Spills:
PurColour Oobleck can be easily cleaned by wiping with a wet cloth or paper towel. If left to dry, it can be vacuumed or swept and any remaining colorant removed with a wet cloth or paper towel.
Hands:
To remove colorant from skin we recommend washing with water and dish soap or bath soap.
Oobleck can be used in large area applications such as in a shallow pool for obstacle course and endurance races, color runs, or just for a fun science project.
Add it to a night time or black light event and watch it glow under the UV light!
